The month of Tishrei is full of festivals. It is a time of spiritual closeness and warmth. In contrast, Cheshvan is a month without any festivals, a time of seeming distance from G-dliness.
The lesson is that we must leave Tishrei full of joy, inspiration, and fortitude. With this strength, every Jew can carry out his mission of transforming darkness to light. Through this, we hasten the time of true and eternal joy with the coming of Moshiach.
