10 Adar: Fighting Indifference
FIGHTING INDIFFERENCE
He cooled you off on the way, causing you not to fear G-d…. You shall obliterate the remembrance of Amalek from beneath the heavens. You shall not forget! (Deuteronomy 25:18-19)
G-dliness is warmth, vitality. Amalek seeks to cool us off. He does this by creating a separation between what we know is right and true, and how we actually feel and act. Moshiach is the essence of G-dliness, imbuing everything with new life. We must fight indifference by living and feeling what we learn. Every spiritual lesson or experience must translate into something practical that will help another person physically and spiritually. This kind of heart, warmth, and action destroys Amalek and brings Moshiach.
