LEARNING FROM EXPERIENCE
At first, the child listens to his father out of simple faith. Yet, only by living a wholesome life according to his father’s instructions will he grow and mature properly so that he can understand and appreciate these instructions.

Following in G-d’s ways with simple faith does not prevent us from understanding. On the contrary, it refines us so that we become sensitive enough to appreciate the wisdom in G-d’s commands.
