2 Nissan: You Can't Escape Reality
YOU CAN’T ESCAPE REALITY
...In haste you left Egypt.... (Devarim 16:3)
For you shall not go out in haste, neither shall you go by flight, for the L-rd will go before you, and at your rear, the G-d of Israel. (Yishayah 52:12)
Our forefathers ran out of Egypt in haste. They ran because the evil was still so strongly attached within and around them that their only means of escape was through a sudden, non-rational leap of faith.
The process of the Final Redemption, by contrast, is occurring in a manner that is slow and methodical. The process involves bringing faith into understanding, and understanding takes time to internalize and digest.
Through understanding and internalizing our faith, we realize that we are constantly with G-d and that G-d is constantly with us; He is before us and behind us. As a result, we have nothing to fear, nothing to run away from.
The point is that Moshiach demands not that we run from reality but face it head-on and transform it into something G-dly.
