23 Tishrei: No One Left Behind
NO ONE LEFT BEHIND
The Torah has already promised that, ultimately, Israel will repent towards the end of her exile and, immediately, she will be redeemed, as [Devarim 30:1-3] states: "There shall come a time after you experienced all of these things..., and you will return to G-d, your G-d..., and G-d, your G-d, will return your captives.” (Rambam, Mishneh Torah, Hilchos Teshuvah 7:5)
Many people have rightfully asked, “Why is Moshiach taking so long?” The Frierdiker Rebbe said, “All the buttons have been polished!” Yet, the children of Israel remain in exile.
The Rebbe addresses this situation by comparing it to a local train that stops at every town along the route. It takes longer to get there, but everyone makes it on board. This could explain the reason for the delay. Moshiach wants to be sure that no one will be left behind.
