5 Nissan: A Leap of Faith
A LEAP OF FAITH
Go and call out in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, “So says the L-rd: I remember the affection of your youth..., how you followed Me in the desert, in a land that was not sown.” (Yirmiyah 2:2)
The Jewish People merited the Exodus through “the affection of youth,” their simple, childlike faith. They believed in G-d and were willing to follow Him into a barren desert with no idea how they would survive, like a child relying on his parent.
The first step out of exile is to reveal our simple faith in G-d. We might not know or understand how we will be liberated, but we believe that Moshiach will bring about an ideal world of peace for all of mankind.
It is this belief that wakes us from our sleep.
